• Following on from last month's keyboard shortcuts, here are some more that you can use in Excel.

• We all know that labour and favour are spelt with "u", so why is it that sometimes Word insists on spelling them without a "u"? In fact there are thousands of infuriating discrepancies like this where our computers are trying to insist on American spellings. I suppose that might be fine in America. Want to know how to get your computer spelling English properly? Here's how to change the default language back to UK English.

Keyboard Magic in Excel

Last month I shared some keyboard shortcuts using the CTRL key + letters which can be used in Excel and Word. Here's some more keyboard shortcuts that will streamline tasks in Excel, saving time without taking your hand off the keyboard to operate the mouse:

English is English, right?

Or so you thought, until your computer insists on underlining in red all the words that are spelt differently in the US. So either ignore the red lines (and risk missing a real typo) or teach it proper English. How? Here's what to do.....

Oddly, it's not in Word where you make the default language change, but in the main Windows settings.

• From the Start menu open the Control Panel
• select Regional and Language
• select English (United Kingdom) from drop down menu
• click OK
• Restart your computer

Telemarketing Services Expanding

I'm pleased to announce that telemarketers, Sonel and Michaela have recently joined my team. Between them they have 35 years experience in various industries, including advertising, finance, automotive, retail, radio and events management.
